Why can't I hear the metronome when my phone is on silent?
In most builds prior to v1.1, the metronome used a system sound that respects the ring/silent switch. Update to the latest version — CodeWiZ now uses AVAudioSession (.playback) so the metronome sounds regardless of the silent switch position.
Does CodeWiZ work without an internet connection?
Yes. All algorithms, PDFs, and the drug calculator work fully offline. An internet connection is only needed to download the app.
Which guidelines does CodeWiZ follow?
All algorithms are sourced from the Resuscitation Council of Southern Africa (RCSA) 2025 guidelines. Tap any algorithm in the app to view the source citation and visit resus.co.za.
Is CodeWiZ suitable for paediatric patients?
Yes. The drug calculator supports adult, child, and infant weight-based dosing. Paediatric defibrillation energy is shown as 4 J/kg for child and infant patients.
How do I export a session report?
During an active session, log events using the action buttons. When the session ends, tap 'Export PDF' from Session History to share a formatted A4 report via email, AirDrop, or any other share option.
Can I use CodeWiZ as a replacement for formal training?
No. CodeWiZ is a clinical reference tool only. It does not replace formal resuscitation training, institutional protocols, or senior clinical judgement. Always follow your institution's guidelines.
Where is my session data stored?
Session history is stored locally on your device using SwiftData. No data is sent to external servers. Deleting the app will permanently remove your session history.
How do I delete a session from history?
Open the Reference tab, tap 'Session History', then swipe left on any session to delete it.
